LeBron is, arguably, the best professional athlete to never win a championship, and after the Thunder’s unraveling of the Heat in last night’s second half, I’m doubtful this is about to change. While the naysayers will pile on, any questions I had in my mind about his “killer instinct” are gone. The man has played like a beast this postseason, including another 30 point game last night. So what’s the latest excuse for why he can’t Be Like Mike and deliver on those (not four, not five) championships? The answer is easy – he’s can’t do it by himself. Last year’s excuse was that outside the Big Three, the Heat stunk, and that just wasn’t enough. But now it’s become evident that the Heat’s own Big Three don’t stack up to the Thunder’s. As my poster boy I’d still take LeBron over Durant though the margin is razor thin, and Bosh is still more valuable than Ibaka or Harden (though that window is closing fast). But Westbrook vs Wade? It isn’t even close. It’s starting to feel like Wade has more games like last night (7-19, 19 points, eh) that his 17-25 performance to close out the Indiana series. I’m sure Wade will have a few phenomenal games in this series but he’ll also have a few more duds. I sure don’t feel the same about the dynamic Westbrook, who continues to climb the charts and may have reached top-10 NBA player status. When the Heat go down, don’t destroy LeBron for his play, America. Destroy him for going with the wrong recruiter*
*Editor’s Note – he should have listed to Derrick Rose
