The Ironic Underdogs

LeBron and Durant are making the hipster vote a priority in the upcoming NBA's Best Player election

The Miami Heat are freshly listed at +140 to win the NBA Finals, which means America will be in a precarious situation.  Can we really project the same vial to history’s most polarizing team when taking home the trophy would be an upset?  Inspite of the Heats perceived inferiority to the Thunder, my guess is that in the court of public opinion, OKC will still be viewed as the underdog.  After all, a major part of this series is LeBron James vs Kevin Durant for the NBA’s Best Player.  And with three MVP trophies to his name, Lebron certainly isn’t the little guy.  People who cheer for the Thunder will be rooting for the underdog, whether or not Vegas agrees who the right side of this is. America is eager to embrace the likeable  Durant to overtake the villanous LeBron as the superior basketball player in the land.  That, ladies and gentleman, is an upset not many of us saw coming.

We’re in for a hell of a series.  David Mason’s Pick:

Thunder -160
